Cheryl Anhel

With great attention to dress, Cheryl comes to The Nina ready to make art. Her focus is only interrupted by her question, “Do you like my new outfit today?” Cheryl describes herself as, “pretty, fancy and hard working.” Cheryl has been painting since she was seven years old. Since coming to The Nina she has become an accomplished painter often employing the circle motif, which for her represents happiness. She has exhibited in several solo, duo and group shows and has expanding her knowledge into the area of printmaking and most recently, performance. As she produces prints her upcoming exhibit at the Stanley Milner Gallery, she describes her process by saying, “I print three times for each picture. Carve then first colour, carve more and second colour, carve more and last color. I start with a face but the picture gets more abstract as I carve.”
